Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) extended its auspices to the AIT School of Professional Intelligence (AITSPIN) during a meeting between Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of MHESI, and an AITSPIN delegation led by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai on May 18, 2026.

The meeting, held at the office of the Permanent Secretary of MHESI, marked an important expression of support for AIT’s newest school as it advances its mission in Thailand and abroad.

During the discussion, Professor Dr. Supachai highlighted the role of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, MHESI, in driving educational reform policies by encouraging universities to collaborate more closely with the industrial sector. These efforts aim to produce high-competency graduates, respond to urgent labour market demands, create commercial innovations, and enhance Thailand’s competitiveness.

A key approach to this collaboration is the development of programs for a high-skilled workforce. Professor Dr. Supachai stated that MHESI is partnering with higher education institutions to produce graduates who can support Thailand’s new target industries, or New S-Curve sectors, including Artificial Intelligence.

In this context, the Permanent Secretary noted that MHESI is currently arranging a program to upskill faculty members in Thai universities. He advised that AITSPIN could complement these efforts by focusing on other important target groups, including industries and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), where there is strong demand for professional upskilling and reskilling.

Professor Dr. Supachai also accepted the invitation to serve as a member of AITSPIN’s International Advisory Panel, further strengthening AITSPIN’s national and international engagement.

Professor Worsak was accompanied by Dr. Chutiporn Anutariya, Director of Academics, AITSPIN; Mr. Karma Rana, AIT’s Institute Secretary; and Ms. Chalita Lertwinyu, Executive Director, Office of Thailand Affairs.

AITSPIN is AIT’s newest school, established to support professionals, organizations, and industries in preparing for the AI era. Designed as a fast, flexible, and lean model of professional postgraduate education, AITSPIN offers practical, future-oriented learning to help individuals and organizations stay relevant in a world being reshaped by artificial intelligence.
