AIT and AEROTHAI Partner to Build AI and Digital Talent for the Future of Aviation
AIT and Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in professional education, human capital development, artificial intelligence, digital technologies and applied research, with AITSPIN playing a key role in the professional education component.
The agreement was signed on 17 September 2026 at AEROTHAI in Bangkok, bringing together senior leaders from the two organisations. The partnership is intended to support digital transformation and innovation in Thailand’s aviation sector through professional learning, knowledge exchange, capacity building and joint initiatives.
Under the MoU, the two institutions will explore cooperation in human capital development, personnel exchanges, training programmes, seminars and workshops, applied academic initiatives and research and development. AEROTHAI may also nominate and sponsor employees to participate in professional education programmes, executive certificate programmes and short courses offered by the AIT School of Professional Intelligence, or AITSPIN.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pichet Kunadhamraks, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AEROTHAI and an AIT alumnus, said technological transformation was making the development of people and digital capability an increasingly important priority. “Strong data governance is essential,” he said, pointing to the importance of combining technological capability with institutional strengths as aviation systems evolve.
Speaking for AIT, Prof Siddharth Jabade, Vice President for Administration and Development, placed the partnership within the wider changes taking place in education and the workplace. “How much we know is important. How we apply it is important,” he said. Prof Jabade also highlighted the idea of Professional Intelligence, which lies at the heart of AITSPIN. “It is Professional Intelligence, not simply AI intelligence,” he said, adding that the partnership offered AIT an opportunity not only to contribute its academic expertise but also to learn from AEROTHAI’s extensive operational experience.
Mr Surachai Nuprom, Acting President and Executive Vice President of AEROTHAI, said the agreement represented another milestone for AEROTHAI as the aviation industry continues to change. “People are key to transformation,” he said, adding that the MoU would bring together AIT’s expertise and AEROTHAI’s professional experience to help translate knowledge into practical capability. “Through this MoU, we are bringing together AIT expertise and academic excellence. The aim is to turn knowledge into capability and help make aviation safer, smarter and more sustainable.”
The MoU was signed by Mr Surachai Nuprom, Acting President and Executive Vice President of AEROTHAI, and Prof Siddharth Jabade, Vice President for Administration and Development at AIT. Mr Sathaporn Srisomwong, Vice President for Human Resources at AEROTHAI, and Prof Emeritus Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Founding Executive Director of AITSPIN, signed as witnesses. The ceremony was attended by senior AEROTHAI executives, including Mr Pichet Kunadhamraks, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Chana Tadtasai, Executive Vice President, Mr Siri Rattanasiripirom, Senior Director of the Human Resource Development and Learning Promotion Bureau, and Ms Prim Intawong, Director of the Human Resource Development and Learning Management Department.
