The AIT School of Professional Intelligence (AITSPIN) formally launches on Monday, 17 August, welcoming its first cohort of students to the AIT campus in Pathum Thani for an orientation program, held in hybrid mode to accommodate both in-person and online participants.

The first batch brings together 50 participants from nine nationalities, split between 22 students in the Professional Master programme and 28 in the Certificate track. Most come sponsored by their employers, alongside a mix of self-paying, alumni and referred candidates spanning engineering, aviation, finance, government and academia.

The programme opens with registration and a technology check, a nod to AITSPIN's hybrid, online-first learning model. Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, the school's Founding Executive Director, will welcome the incoming students shortly after 10 a.m., followed by an opening address from AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li on the institute's vision for professional education in the age of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Chutiporn Anutariya, Director of Academics at AITSPIN, will walk students through their "AITSPIN journey," framing the new school's approach to building professional intelligence for an AI-driven workplace.

The morning also gives students their first look at the people behind the programme, with faculty and staff introductions, a cohort snapshot, and informal networking that closes with a group photograph marking the occasion.

A panel discussion follows the mid-morning break, bringing together instructors and experienced online learners to share practical advice on succeeding in synchronous virtual classrooms. Panelists Dr. Parin Fuangvut, Khun Chadin Kasemsri Na Ayudhya, and Dr. Varanyu Suchivoraphanpong will share strategies drawn from their own teaching and learning experience, with the session moderated by Awaneendra Labh.

After a networking lunch, the afternoon session turns hands-on. Dr. Anutariya and the AITSPIN academic and learning-systems teams will walk students through the practical mechanics of studying at the school including academic advising, key dates, expectations around participation and applied assessment, and guidance on the responsible use of AI in coursework. Students then get a guided tour of their digital classroom, covering Google Meet, live captioning, chat and collaboration tools, and recording access, before trying out a short live "Shared Classroom" activity themselves. The day's academic session closes with a final technical readiness check.

Prof. Worsak returns to close out the programme in the late afternoon, outlining next steps for the cohort as they prepare to begin coursework.

Held in the AITSPIN HyFlex Classroom under a business casual dress code, the orientation reflects the school's hybrid design from the outset, with students asked to bring a laptop or tablet to take part in the day's technology checks and digital classroom exercises.

While Day 1 will bring the cohort together to meet the AITSPIN faculty and team, get familiar with the HyFlex learning environment, and explore how to make the most of the programme, on Day 2, 18 August, the learning moves beyond the classroom with site visits to two companies, giving participants an opportunity to connect their studies with the world of work.
